Description:
Niobium sheet thickness ranges from 0.5 to 3.0 mm. Niobium is typically a gray metal with the
following physical properties: melting point of 2468 °C, boiling point of 4742 °C, density of 8.57
g/cm3, higher deformation under compression for high purity niobium metal, making it easier to
process into thin niobium sheets; however, as impurities are added and the sheet becomes harder,
the material's thermal neutron capture cross section decrease. Niobium does not interact with air
and is incredibly stable in air at normal temperature. Niobium sheet is frequently utilized in the
aerospace industry for high temperature resistant components despite having a lower density than
other refractory metals and a greater melting point in its elemental condition.

Niobium Sheet & Niobium Plate Application
Niobium sheet & plate is used in industrial, electric light source, heating and heat shield
electric vacuum equipment. High purity niobium sheet has higher requirements for purity
and uniformity, it can be used as the cavity material of the superconducting linear collider.
The biggest demand for niobium sheet and strip is for steel enterprises, and the materials
are mainly used in cold rolling acid washing and immersion tank, jet pump and its system
pipe fittings.
High RRR Niobium material for Superconducting RF Cavities (SCRF)
As a superconducting metal material, It shall be confirmed to the stipulations contained in
ASTM B393 Type-5 (RRR superconducting grade pure niobium).
